At KALITA we are very passionate about sustainable fashion. We are always searching to find better alternatives to encourage responsible ethics of care and reducing the harm to the environment that is created as a result of fashion production.
Our timeless garments are produced together with our process partners to be part of 2% of the industry that participate in the honest production process. Together we ensure that the KALITA brand is ethical and all aspects of the business is treated with respect and compassion, with a focus on our materials impact being less harmful to the environment.
We donate to both Ecologi (for our Kalita Forest program) as well as DIRT (to support soil regeneration), and focus our efforts on practical steps to protect the environment.

Our Pledge
These are the 10 practical steps that we are currently taking to try to achieve our sustainability goals.
These dyes offer higher absorption rates, minimising grey water run-off during production which helps avoid pollution of natural waterways.
We try to minimise all wastage in our process. Fabric offcuts have been used to create our range of knickers and masks, and sample fabric was used to create our bags.
We manufacture in small batches, only what we need, using low impact materials and have a fully transparent supply chain that we closely monitor.
Each piece arrives in minimal recycled (and recyclable) packaging, wrapped in a reusable muslin bag. Our tags are recycled, and we are FSC approved.
We have recently introduced carbon offsetting for our delivery, so all deliveries with our shipping partner, DHL, are now carbon neutral.
Our garments are designed to be worn many times, over many years. We also support our friends at My Wardrobe HQ, where you can rent our garments for that special occasion.
We work with a small team of artisans in Bali. We pay a fair wage to our team, provide excellent working conditions and help support local communities.
Our website (powered by Google Cloud + Shopify) runs on carbon neutral servers coming from renewable energy sources.
We donate to DIRT, which strives to transform fashion into a climate solution by promoting biodynamic agriculture and soil regeneration.

Our Team
Who makes your garments? A small team based in London, UK and our amazing group of artisans who operate from our studios in Bali + India. We pay a fair, living wage, and support local communities with our charity initiatives.
Since we are small, we can keep a close eye on both the production process and the working conditions of the people who work at KALITA HQ. We are currently an all women team, and love to support working mums in our studio.
It's All in the Detail
Everything we do at KALITA is with purpose. Even our packaging has been produced with longevity in mind. Each KALITA garment is housed in a beautiful muslin bag that can be reused for shoes or sundries. KALITA tags are made from FSC certified forests or post-consumer waste approved mixed recycled paper or fabric. We have also introduced Carbon offsetting deliveries, so all KALITA deliveries are carbon neutral.
We are committed to embracing real changes in the systems production chain, reducing waste, finding alternatives to plastic, protecting small sustainable businesses and innovating and researching cleaner, less planet harmful technologies.
Our passion and search to produce products that are aimed towards greater ecological integrity and social justice is never complete. We will continue searching and implement initiatives to ensure sustainability; environmental concerns are at the forefront of everything that we do.

Each year we aim to support a cause close to our hearts by donating a percentage of our profits to a philanthropic cause. We are currently supporting Ecologi who support green projects around the world and plant trees to help offset global carbon emissions.
